Our Weekend

Posted by Emily , Sunday, October 20, 2013 7:36 PM

This weekend Sage got to spend some time with Grandma Debbie while Matt and I went to the MU-Florida game. We had a really good time, but I was totally wiped out by the time we got home.

Sunday was a lazy day. Sage must have had a lot of fun with Grandma Debbie, because she took a 2-hour nap an then went to bed early!

Self-Feeding

Posted by Emily , Monday, October 7, 2013 7:54 PM

Sage is patiently practicing her pincer grasp and learning to self-feed. I love watching her. It's fascinating. Watching a baby learn to self-feed is like watching someone try to win a stuffed animal in one of those claw machines.

Here she is eating string cheese, Cheerios, and diced peaches. The paper towel is taped down to the tray to stop the food from slipping away from her pinchers.

It was a great idea until she picked up the paper towel and all the food flew everywhere.

At least the dog was happy about it.

had five of my students out sick on Friday, and at about 2 AM Saturday morning, I learned how they probably felt. It was horrible and lasted till around 9 that morning, at which point I spiked a high fever that lasted the rest of the day. I was supposed to go to Carrollton with Matt, so he told me to stay home and rest and he took the dog and baby with him.

Today I am fever-free and my stomach has settled a bit, but I'm still afraid to eat and totally exhausted. Matt and Sage retuned from Carrollton this afternoon, which made me appreciate the fact that Matt took Sage with him even more. Even though they are cute, these two are exhausting!

On a more positive note, Sage is 9 months old today!! Hard to believe. I haven't weighed or measured her in a while and I don't really have the energy for the full run-down right now, so I'll wait to do the 9-month update until after she has her checkup on Friday. Here's some more cuteness for now:
This is a picture Matt sent me of Sage checking cows with Grandma Debbie.

Green Week

Posted by Emily , Saturday, October 5, 2013 4:02 PM

Sage's daycare has a color of the week each week, and this week it was green. They wear the color of the week on Friday. Here she is all ready for daycare this morning!

And one with the eyes closed just for fun :)
